So wow. That took forever. One art-shift and a hiatus later, Jack finally exits the meeting, Cameron's phobia will no longer be a running joke, everything went better than expected. I wonder what future archive browsers will think of this arc, having the benefit of everything already being there rather than stretched out over 3 months. Probably be too impressed of the art shift to care.

Vivz really focusing on better illumination in these new pages. I thought it was a one time thing with all these flashbacks, but nope. Even Jack, one of the most static characters of early ZP canon, is really changed by the lightning effects. Panel 4 and 5 look really nice, even though Cameron's clothes look sort of, painted on. Was it always like this? Maybe because there always more motion before, so we never noticed.

That is a lot of lockers. I guess that's how it is with American highschools. I never really paid attention to the trees, but SH has to cater to all sorts of species, I'm surprised we only saw them once before.

Also, Rusty finally shows up. Looks like he's finally getting a speaking role.

Yeah, I remember locker-halls from my school days.  It really did pretty much look like that.  I kinda wonder what's going on above them, though.  Unless I'm seeing something wrong, that's a really tall hallway.

I didn't notice the thing with her clothes, but yeah.  I think it's because they're basically flush with her skin, which it looks like has pretty much been Viv's style for her all along.  It's made more obvious here by the art shift and the fact that Cameron is actually relaxed in this scene, whereas before she was pretty much in a perpetual state of cringing.  Since to see her making some progress on that front.

Now another month or two to see how things go with Jack and Rusty!

What is this art-shift you keep talking about? Am I just absurdly inattentive for not noticing it? I guess now that you mention it the style seems a little bit different.
Also can confirm the locker situation as an American high school student, I'm between classes right now and tried to take a picture for Silver but there was a girl in the hall and I didn't want anyone to think I was photographing her. Where do you live anyway that your schools are different?

Yeah, I agree. Two parts of the hallway seems to open to the courtyard outside, no reason to do that, unless maybe they wanted sunlight lightning instead of lightbulbs. It doesn't seem you can traverse it as there's a window, so I'm guessing lightning reasons and building up that chill 'outdoorsy' aesthetic for its students. I bet a lot of the students come from the Forest District, so that's likely for their sake.

The wall behind Jack looks tall for no apparent reason. Maybe it leads to a wall that's part of a foundation and they just didn't wanna cover it up with artwork or build an extra floor? No idea why, I bet it looks so weird in person. Just this big, blank wall in the middle of a heavily used school hallway.

For the art syle, it's mostly things like heavier showcasing of illumination and stuff. Also the characters were obviously updated, most heavily apparent in Cameron so far (for one, no more obvious comic black bordering on her or on anyone.). Zill, whenever he shows up next, is practically unrecognizable, everything looks a whole lot softer, etc.

As for me, I go to this really small, one 3 story building school. We have like, 5 dudes in my class. We play cards from time to time. It's great. But no lockers of any sort, and people just stay in the same class all the time.

I feel like anything weird about the background can be pretty much entirely attributed to Viv not liking to draw them, which she was talking about somewhere.  

I went back to look at some of her more recent art and you're totally right, the differences are pretty dramatic in some spots.  It's really lovely looking.  I find it super weird that Zill has pawprints on his feet though.


Your school sounds like a blast.  I have a friend who went to a private school that was about that size, but mine has like 600 students (which isn't really that big for the states, I live in a small town so my school actually serves as the school for my town and the two next to us).
